StyleFashionista - Curvy & Fabulous 'Lade
Hello Loviessss,
Today our stylefashionista is the very lovely, curvy and fabulous lade, a student in England.
She sent in her pictures and was very quick to remind me that she is working on a tight budget. I couldn't stop laughing cos i know the feeling. Been there.
She sure knows how to style her curves and i think she nailed it in her outfits.
I love that she wears all kinds of prints and embraces bold colors.
What do you guys think?
Name: 'Lade
Where are you originally from & where do you live currently: Osun state in Nigeria, but currently reside in a small town in the East Midlands, England.
What you do for a living: I am currently a part time, job seeking student (babe on a tight, throat cutting budget)
How do you relax/hobbies: Singing, watching series (addicted to Grey's Anatomy, Suits, Scandal, revenge and Vampire Diaries....Cant wait till they all return for new seasons), watching talent shows (American idol, Britain's got talent, X-factor, etc....i recommend the Nigerian versions of these shows to laugh you guts out), surfing the web and gisting with my friends and sisters.
What inspires your style: My comfort, confidence and comfort of everyone that will see me..i'll explain- as a curvy lady, there are parts of my body that i'm not comfortable exposing, so i usually keep them under wraps..plus there are trends that i believe aren' t for curvy ladies too
Who is your style icon: To be honest, i dont really have one... My mum maybe...Lady white of life!, And maybe Tanesha of Girl with curves (http://girlwithcurves.com/About).
Are you ladylike or boyish in your dressing: I like to think i'm ladylike..i do have my boyish days though.
What fashion item can't you live without: Blazers and Flats please
Pumps or wedges: Pumps please! Eww to wedges, i have only 'owned' one ever (it was stolen from my elder sister)
Are you obsessed with any fashion item in your closet now and what is it: I love 98% of the stuff in my closet right now but not obsessed...i have a few things i'm obsessed with but i don't own them....YET!
What's the most expensive or cheapest fashion item you've ever owned and was it worth it: Nothing jare.. I usually wait for a sale, so maybe half of my closet is a steal..Lol!
Are you a foodie and what's your favourite food: Not really a foodie, but my favorite food should be a nice plate of chicken salad....*tongue out*
How do you stay fit & healthy: I hate exercise (and it shows) but i then to walk around and take the stairs A LOT in my current country of residence.
What's the weirdest thing I'll find in your handbag: Nothing really...i hardly carry unnecessary stuff..A needle and thread sometimes might be the weirdest stuff periodically in my bag
Your favourite holiday location: Dubai & Singapore
How do you dress your curves: I just dress for me, i try to cover my 'problem areas' such as my arms and i always take other people into consideration..(don't want to be hurting anyone's eyes now)..I find a lot of african curvy ladies dressing in extremely tight clothes as they seem not to know the difference between fitted and tight, exposing stretch marked arms and cellulite filled thighs (you can edit anywhere u feel i went overboard as you dont want to reduce followers oh! lol)...thats why blazers are my wardrobe staples...i dont really find it difficult though, but sometimes its hard to find nice fitting items to buy.
Brands that cater for you body type: H and M (their blazers are the life- in colors and fit), New look, Zara (Yimu) and Primarni (for my flats)!!! Ebay also helps A LOT!
Advice to other curvy ladies: Dress you body right and you'll look amazing..Invest in blazers they boost your confidence and please let's learn to buy our size...
