Wednesday the 3rd/Sure Guy Date Series Ctd.
Hello Loviessss,
Hmmm, i don't even know where to start from, i just know i would not forget wednesday 3rd July in a hurry. I have heard of and even seen people rush to the airport and miss their flight but i just never thought that sort of thing could ever happen to me.Haba, I am too organized and plan way too much to fall a victim of running to catch a moving plane (Picture that..Hahaha).
I shut down early on tuesday, didn't stay at home and even slept with one eye open so i could make the airport early on Wednesday for my 7.30 am flight to Accra. I woke up at 5am, rushed a bath and was at the airport by 6:00 am, happy i had made it before 6.20 am when check in closed. I cat-walked into the terminal and quietly joined the Arik queue. Between standing, making calls and smiling/greeting some familiar faces, i didn't notice one chic had shunted and positioned herself in front of me. I ended the call and tapped her ever so softly and politely told her she just shunted the queue. She looked at me with her really really long false lashes and said "I was 'ere halready hand hi just went to buy Hem Tee Hen card" Translation - I was here already and i just went to buy MTN card - airtime. When i heard her accent, i didn't bother arguing, i just accepted my fate and thought to my self that we would all board this aircraftsha; H factor or not...LOL.
Anyways, about 10mins later, H factorsisterhh sister went in through the barrier and i was about to go in with her when an Arik staff asked me to hold on and i smiled and waited patiently forming prim & proper. The next thing i knew o, one tall man wearing an Arik air blazer came and closed the barrier and said check in had closed. Ehnnnnnn check in has what!!!!!!. You've got to be kidding me, i thought he was joking because i figured the proper thing to do was to let the rest of us on the queue come in and close the counter after the last person.
I thought i was in a movie o, this guy was dead serious. He said "Check in has closed for Accra". I approached him and asked how that was even possible. I spoke all the english i knew, when it wasn't working, i tried to beg the Arik man, nothing worked. You know that moment when you try to make all the influential calls you can and for some strange reason, the network is terrible and calls aren't going through. I looked ahead and i saw H factor sister had checked in -Chei. While some people were screaming at the top of their voices, i asked when the next flight was, and they said 5pm but there were no seats so i had to go upstairs to their office to change my ticket time or date. Getting upstairs, i was told by the ticket officer that the flight for the next day too was fully booked (btw, the crowd to Accra daily is crazy) but that something would come up if 'i did them well'. When an available seat came up, I just told them to book me for the next day and i paid the official fee; i was too angry to 'do them well', i was even kind of close to tears. You won't understand the pain i felt unless you've gone through the same experience.
Just as i was leaving the terminal, my friend C called me and i told him what happened and he burst out laughing. I could have strangled him if he was anywhere near...LOL. After his call, i started calling Abdullahi the driver; his number rang through but i got no response. I had to call them at home and they said he left his phone charging so no one could reach him. Luckily he had a new sim and someone at home had the number and they finally got through to him. After waiting for almost 2 hours, just when i was about to take a taxi, he called me "Aunty i dey the arrival side ma" I just told him to come to the departure wing because i didn't even have the strength to get upset. Could i have arrived from my trip in 1 hour ehnn Abdullahi?
Anyways i got home and later called Arik to confirm my seat for the next day. Thursday came and i got to the airport at 5.40 am. This time, no surprises, guarding my space on the queue with my life and no distracting phone calls. At exactly 6 am, an Arik staff came to me saying/whispering "Aunty do you want me to fast track you'? I was wondering fast track me how. He said i saw you yesterday, i don't want you to miss your flight again. Immediately i heard miss your flight again, i just followed him like a zombie, gave him my passport and he checked me in and did all the wahala. The next thing he said "you have to find me something o aunty". I looked at him again and he was truly an Arik staff. I was shocked beyond words. I looked in my purse and gave him 2k and he said "let me give you my number aunty. Anytime, just call me and i will check you in". Still confused about why Arik air full staff would openly request for a bribe. Men in black, LASTMA, everyone bribe. Which way Nigeria?
Back to the outfit postjare; between my very busy schedule, i took time out to take some pictures for the Boyfriend Date Series. Remember the mail i got about what to wear for different dates with 'sure guy'? If you missed it, check Here. You could wear this for an easy breezy afternoon out at the beach or a boat cruise/beach house do.
